Specification

Every figure, and where it comes from.

Values are taken from the company's own technical specification and cross-checked against its quotations. Where two documents disagree, both readings and the rule applied are stated in the row.

The drawing

How it is built, and how it moves.

Drawn on the same drafting system as the rest of the set: five stroke weights by role, a 2 px grid, and motion derived from the machine's own kinematics rather than approximated.

How it works

The principle behind the specification.

Single toggle, and what that means for the motion

The swing jaw hangs from an eccentric shaft at the top and is held at the bottom by a toggle plate. The result is that every point on the jaw travels an ellipse — nearly circular at the feed opening, flattening to a thin crescent at the discharge. That vertical component is what pulls material down through the chamber, and it is why a single-toggle machine has a higher throughput than a double-toggle of the same opening.

The toggle as a fuse

The toggle plate is the weakest deliberate link in the machine. Feed something uncrushable and the toggle fails before the frame or the eccentric does — a cheap part instead of an expensive one.

In the works

The machine itself.
