How it works

The principle behind the specification.

What it actually does

The filter hopper is under suction and the line below it is not. Open a plain slide valve and air rushes up through the powder instead of powder falling out. A rotary airlock has vanes running in sealing contact with the housing bore, so there is never an open path between the two sides: pockets fill at the inlet, carry down one side, discharge at the outlet, and come back up empty. Product leaves and the pressure difference stays.

Why the VFD matters

Discharge rate is set by rotor speed. Too slow and the hopper backs up into the bags; too fast and the pockets pass part-empty, which wastes air across the seal. A drive on a variable-frequency drive lets the rate be trimmed to the plant rather than fixed at build.
