Aftermarket

Spares, from the people who made the machine.

A grinding plant is a wear business. AEW runs a 44-item spares programme covering every part of a micronizer plant that is expected to be replaced.

What the programme covers

Six families of wear part.

Mill liners

Double-wave high-chrome liners, 35–45 mm, 168 per mill — the largest single wear item in the plant.

Beaters and blades

Descendicator beaters and rotor plates, the parts that take impact rather than abrasion.

Bearings

Trunnion and plummer-block bearings, double-row self-aligning spherical roller.

Pinions and gears

Pinion in EN9 on an EN8 shaft, and the girth gear it drives.

Pulleys and shafts

V-belt sheaves and drive shafts across the mill, classifier, blower and descendicator.

Screens and valves

Descendicator screens, rotary airlock rotors and vane tips, screw flights.

Priced on enquiry. Spares pricing depends on the size, the grade and the quantity, so it is quoted rather than listed. Tell us the machine and the part and we will come back with a price and a lead time.

The largest wear item

Mill liners, and why there are 168 of them.

A 14 ft × 6 ft mill carries 168 double-wave liners in high-chrome steel, 35 to 45 mm thick, bolted through the shell from outside. They are the surface the charge actually works against, and they are consumed rather than maintained.

Double-wave profile is not decoration. The wave lifts the charge up the shell so it cascades down the free surface rather than sliding as a mass, and the lift height is what sets whether the media cascades or cataracts. A worn-flat liner grinds measurably worse long before it is thin enough to look worn out.

Need a part?

Send the machine, the part and the quantity. If it is a liner or a media charge, the mill size is enough.
